Health screening… identify any health issues or health risks
Take a proactive approach to the overall health of your workforce. We offer a wide range of non-invasive medical health checks to identify any existing health issues or potential health risks.
Health Screening describes a series of tests, which help to identify any existing health issues and potential health risks at that time. Once we have identified who is going to be screened (usually from results of the Digital Health Risk Assessment), our health technician takes each person through a series of non-invasive tests.
Health screening options include:
- Body Composition ‘Baseline Checks’
- Lung Capacity/Lung Age
- Blood Pressure
- Self-Examination Breast Check Kit
- Intolerance Testing
- Covid-19 Antibody Testing
Blood chemistry test options include:
- Total Cholestorol and/or Full Lipid Profile
- Blood Glucose (Diabetes)
- Liver Function
- Haemoglobin (Anemia)
- H-Pylori (Stomach Ulcers & IBS)
- Thyroid
- Prostate Specific Antigen Test
Once the tests are concluded, the person being screened is given a personal and private report, summarising the findings and making recommendations for improvement, which could include a recommendation to seek medical help.
Our advice is focused on:
- Prevention practices – what to do to prevent, lessen or reverse a particular problem
- Good nutrition and healthy eating – usually geared towards weight loss
- Regular activity and fitness
- Stress management

Test and measure
Body Composition ‘Baseline Checks’
Standing with bare feet on our biometric scales allows us to collect data about your body weight, fat mass, muscle mass, bone weight, BMI, metabolic age, hydration levels and visceral fat readings. It is a totally painless and non-invasive test requiring you only to know your age and gender before stepping on the scales. This test is often done at the start of any fitness and/or weight loss programme and at regular intervals to check on progress.
Lung Capacity/Lung Age
The better your fitness levels, the easier it is for your lungs to keep your heart, your muscles and your body’s cells supplied with enough oxygen – which feeds our brains, repairs our cells and even calms our nerves.
This evaluation of your respiratory system quite simply requires you to breathe with maximal effort into a tube. The test measures how much air you can hold after taking a deep breath in, how quickly you can exhale the air (carbon dioxide) and the strength of your breathing muscles.
Results will vary depending on your age, sex and height – whilst factors such
as lower fitness levels and smoking, or conditions such as asthma, can reduce lung capacity. A low volume may indicate risk of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Blood Pressure
This measures the maximum pressure created in your blood circulatory system as your heart beats (Systolic) and in between beats (Diastolic). High blood pressure, or hypertension, rarely has noticeable symptoms, but if untreated, it increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.
Self-Examination Breast Check Kit
This ‘take home’ kit contains a gel filled glove and a CD with instructions on how to check your breasts for irregularities.
Intolerance Testing
This is a hair strand test whereby a sample is sent to a laboratory to check for both food and non-food product intolerance.
Blood chemistry
Total Cholestorol and/or Full Lipid Profile
This test measures the good and bad fats present in your body. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that is produced naturally in the liver, which plays a vital role in cellular function, however, a high level of Cholesterol could lead to the blockage of arteries and could be an indicator of increased risk of Coronary Heart Disease and Stroke.
Blood Glucose (Diabetes)
Blood glucose levels are ever changing and dependent on many factors including what is eaten and when. Checking the glucose (sugar) levels present in your blood, will determine how well your pancreas is working and whether you are at risk of developing diabetes.
Haemoglobin (Anemia)
Low Haemoglobin levels indicate a shortage of the oxygen carrying pigment in your red blood cells. Commonly referred to as Anemia, this can be due to an iron or vitamin B12 deficiency, poor diet or sustained bleeding.
H-Pylori (Stomach Ulcers and IBS)
Helicobacter Pylori (H-Pylori) is a bacterium that affects the digestive system, which left untreated can lead to ulcers in the stomach lining and/or small intestine. It may also be associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Most people do not know they are infected, and a positive result should be followed up with your GP.
Thyroid
The thyroid regulates the chemical processes that happen within our bodies, and our metabolism. This test measures Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) levels, and screens for hypothyroidism (an under-active thyroid), with a long list of symptoms requiring investigation with your GP.
Prostate Specific Antigen Test
This test (for men only) checks protein levels in the blood, which may be an indication of an enlarged prostate. This can lead to symptoms of an obstructive nature due to narrowing of the urethra, infection and/or risk of prostate cancer. High readings would suggest further investigation with your GP.
Urinalysis
We can and do, have a positive impact on companies and society in general, and we are actively seeking
to become Partners in Health with businesses that take Corporate Social Responsibility seriously.
